Client Spotlight: ClearTec – Maidstone, Kent

We recently spent a few hours with Mark Perkins and Russell Amos, Directors of Cleartec Limited, who shared with us their business aims and ambitions.

Mark and Russell have known each other for 15 years working together on and off throughout their careers but it wasn’t until the pandemic hit, when they had time to reassess their work life that they decided to risk it all and go out on their own.

“Starting the business was a big learning curve for us, but luckily, we’ve got some very good friends and business connections” explained Mark, “Unfortunately, in the past, things hadn’t worked out with the other businesses we have worked in and so, despite the risks and with my wife being 7 months pregnant, the time was right to take the risk and we created Cleartec.”

“The idea behind Cleartec was to bring every element of technology to business owners, but in a clear simplified way.” Mark describes, “Cleartec provides help with everything from cloud to cyber security, through to automation and hardware. Cleartec aim to eliminate all the nonsense, all the loud noise, to provide clear advice and guidance around technology and make it easier for business owners to make decisions, in short our aim is to simplify the world of technology!”

For business owners technology can sometimes be very confusing; people normally just defer all Technology decisions to the “IT Man”. Cleartec aims to bridge the gap between business strategy and technology.

”Our passion really is just demonstrating to everyone that there’s so much more technology can add to your business” says Russell, “We’ve got a very good loyal client base and that is because we always try and go above and beyond. We’re more than just selling them a printer, backup solution or other tech – we are here to understand the client, understand their business, their challenges and work with them to solve their issues.

Our biggest success is starting the business in the first place, in the middle of a pandemic, we never knew how it would pan out.

Our next challenge is finding the right people that fit in with the culture and finding people who enjoy working here. We want people that have the right ethics and want to grow.
